Question:

After running for a while, something in my arch pulls and it hurts really bad. Why?

I've recently started running. I just got a new pair of tennis shoes, too. With my old ones and now with my new ones, it always feels like I've strained something in my arch. Do I need to get another pair of tennis shoes or get some of those insert arch things for my shoes? Is this pain just caused by poor arch support or something else. If it helps any, I also dance (ballet, jazz, pointe).

  1. I have the exact same problem.  seriously. its on my right foot and my shoes are shox also. the way to fix this is to tie that shoe as tight as its possible to tie.. try it and see what happens, no more pain

  2. It sounds like you need some arch support that you are not  getting with these shoes.

Do you have running shoes, or just tennis shoes?

Tennis shoes are not made for running they are made for a court game.

Talk to some one at a running shoe store they can direct you to a good pair of shoes for your needs, and inserts if necessary.
