Hello,

I have a interview for a after school Program leader position. Just wondering what kind of questions they would ask. This is my first position in teaching.

Thanks

  1. What is your philosophy of education?

You have a child with whom the normal discipline management techniques are not effective (time out, etc.). How do you handle this child?

Why do you want to teach?

What is the principal's role in discipline?

    Describe your classroom management style.

How do you propose keeping parents involved?

Describe your strengths. (or greatest strength)

Describe your weaknesses. (or greatest weakness)

This ought to give you an idea. I've been asked all of these questions, but when I was interviewed for my most recent position, I just sat there and said, "Yes, Sir," and "No, Sir," as the principal did *all* of the talking.

Different interviewers have different styles, but discipline seems to be an area of great interest for most administrators as it eats up a majority of their time - and also over silly, frivolous matters that should be handled in the classroom and not the office.

    Good luck!
