I know that many people thought that players like Horford or T. Young or L. Scola should have had a better shot at the ROY. Durant was with without a doubt one of the best rookies, but people still question whether or not he deserved the ROY.

  1. Well to answer your question, it's not a lock in that Michael Beasley will win the ROY award.  Sure, he's a great player, truly one amazing rookie.  He's got a great shot.  But you have to consider.. you have players like Rose, OJ Mayo, the Lopez twins, and also Greg Oden!  Yes, Michael Beasley does currently look like the preference for the ROY award, but we haven't seen what any of those rookies can do in the NBA.  College basketball and NBA basketball are totally different.  Now, the only thing that matters is proving themselves in professional basketball.

EDIT: One more thing I forgot to mention.  Last year, there really wasn't too too much competition for Durant.  I mean yes, Luis Scola was a great addition, and so were all the others, but this year, the rookies are stacked, unlike last year.

  2. Durant put up pretty big #'s. I like a rookie who puts up 20ppg. Beasley is a better scorer and rebounder than Durant but Durant is a better defender. Durant has those long arms that bother opponents a lot. Beasley has a huge attitude problem, he thinks hes the best. Durant in the long run i think is going to be a better player because he has the mentality to become better.

  3. yea, think of this Beasley is better than Durant by fgp and rebound, just think of like this, he is a little or the same as melo. even though Beasley broke Melo double doubles record in college in only freshmen year

  4. they only question that because his team sucked.  He was clearly the best rookie in the league last year.  Beasley, might be a different story, even though he is probably the best rookie right now, he isnt the primary option like Durant was.  This could either help Beasley, or not help him.  Only time can tell.

  5. well you have oj mayo also and #1 overall pick derrick rose and lets not forget our man greg oden
