I have a pretty good idea of who is going to be in the top three. I have just have been having problems determining the order of finish when playing trifectas and quinellas.

  1. You and everybody else. If anyone here knew how to pick horses, do you think we'd be here on Y!A?

  2. just chart your races for a week...in order of their odds...lowest 1st and so on....then write down what pick wins the most races....

    good luck.....

  3. To be honest with you unless I have a true favorite (mine not the odds makers) I just box them. This way you don't have to pick 1-2-3, just WHICH 3.

As for a Quinells I don't play them, I just do an exacta box. Paysout better.

  4. the trifecta box for a $1 bet will be a six dollar bet total. in regards to exacta - quiniela, well, check to see if you got a longshot in the 3 you like. exacta wise the box is a great play, but if you got the three favorites, then the quiniela would be the better play. always check out the will pays on the exacta and quinielas b/c you might find a sleeper somewhere in the three that you like. also a good idea is to bet your longshot out of the three you like to win and place. that way if the horse you bet wins, and you dont win the other bet, you got something coming back at ya and you might even turn a nice little profit too!

  5. The best thing to do is to box the trifecta.  That way, it doesn't matter what order the 3 come in.  good luck.
