  1. Nuh uh! I'm all about the funny :) That's part of why I'm in the Alternative category. There's a character or two in here that are pretty amusing with their evangelical zeal for the paranormal, although they don't intend to be I'm sure. That's the funny part!

  2. That's so not true. For example Raymond Moody, M.D. has even written a book about laughter and the paranormal (link below).

Also, psuedoskeptics have always had a since of humor.

For example calling people mentally ill and drug users without examining their claims is I suspect as funny to them them as it is to us believers when they claim that doing so is scientific.

Also, parading around a documented dishonest magician with no education, training or understanding of science as proof that there is no evidence of psi abilities is hilarious to real scientist. I suspect the psuedoskeptics  find it amusing as well when they fool the general public into thinking their religious doctrine is science.

You just don't appreciate their sense of humor. Perhaps it is an acquired taste like British TV or torture.

  3. Prove that I ever had one.   Until scientists can say with certainty that I had one I will dispute that it ever existed.   Perhaps you need counseling?   I believe that  you have some severe psychological issues that need to be dealt with.

  4. There's a lot of difference in having a sense of humor and making fun of others.  I've had to stop myself several times from making cracks that I knew would offend others. It's called self control and trying not to be rude. I think it would do ALL of us good to review what we post and think whether it's going to make our section better or worse. I love it when someone is truly funny. That's one of the first things I liked about YA. I was very depressed and sometimes I'd find myself laughing outloud...a belly laugh...which helped to bring me out of depression. Answering "HUH?" to someone's question can hit the spot sometimes...but being rude takes away all the fun. I love these sections and I hate to see them turn into a battleground among posters. Why can't everybody just get along? I want to look forward to coming here...not dread it. I'm sure there are others who feel the same on here. Don't we already have enough stress in our lives? Let's try to make people's lives more stress free by not fighting.  I think EVERYONE should have the right to participate on here without being knocked down. I wish they'd do away with thumbs completely. It only causes problems. It's not being used the way it was intended to be used. Thanks .

  5. Just call me Miss Small Percentage lol

  6. Scientists, in general, are trained to not have a sense of humor.

But even that doesn't stop scientists from laughing at us. Ever tried to explain velcro to someone who wasn't familiar with it? Or how about that "drink holder" on the front of the computer tower (and yes, I actually had the audio for this call from an actual call center)?

People who have a sense of humor can't be objective. And therefore, objectivity requires that we become Vulcans.

    It's only logical.
