After shaping well on turf, Capone set to shine on Polytrack - 32Red.com Racing Handicap at Kempton
Victories seem to have dried up for Capone these days. The 7-year-old has not tasted success since February. Nevertheless, no one should take him lightly. The Garry Moss-trained has shaped quite nicely on his latest two turf starts following a long summer
break, and looks to be a fascinating horse on Polytrack.
The son of Daggers Drawn is in a great position to present an outstanding show in the 32Red.com Racing Handicap at Kempton on Thursday, November 1st. As per the plan, the 6-furlong meeting will be started at 19:40 GMT. A dozen horses have stepped
into the battle in pursuit of a prize of £6,412.
Capone was seventh on his seasonal debut at Doncaster in September. He further raised his game to secure the fourth place last time out. The spectators at Catterick saw him narrowly missing the podium in a very tough competition. His previous two acts were
surely quite impressive, and he is expected to build on that.
Out of others, Ihtifal is the one to be with. The 3-year-old dashing filly recorded her sole victory in July, when beating Tahlia Ree by five lengths at Yarmouth. The Saeed Bin Suroor-trained perpetuated her marvellous work, and put up another excellent
show the following month.
However, she remained slightly unlucky, missing the gold only by half a length. The daughter of Dansili was not impressive on her previous start, but still it is very hard to rule her out of the equation. It is a great chance for the filly to get back to
the right track.
Last Sovereign is another dangerous fellow. The 8-year-old won two of the previous three races. After winning a tough race at Newmarket, he lost his direction for a while, and finished fourth at Royal Ascot. Trained by Ollie Pears, the son of Pivotal quickly
got his act together, and secured an easy 3-length win at Wolverhampton at the end of September.
Ihtifal and Last Sovereign, both have earned good odds, but their chances are not absolute. Capone is well-prepared to do something special on AW, after a couple of fine turf runs recently. Good luck to all.
