After striking a hat-trick, Spinkys Nod is pointed toward the Coral Coronation Cup on 6th January
Three-year-old daughter of Droopys Kewell out of Droopys Mo, Spinkys Nod, will be starting off her brand new season with a start in the Coral Coronation Cup 2012 on Friday, 6th January.
This will be her first race of the season, and with the New Year, Spinkys Nod will be tested at a new venue called Romford, over a distance of 575 metres, her first stretch out in distance.
All in all, it is a new challenge for her which will test her potential, and prove the connections how worthwhile she truly and actually is.
After her last race of the previous season, on 8th December, 2011, Spinkys Nod made her first public appearance while working at Hove on a 515 metres track and clocking the track distance in 29.89 seconds.
During the year 2011, Spinkys Nod raced nineteen times at Wimbledon and Hove. Out of those starts, she managed nine victories, being successful in almost half of her starts during the year.
Her first victory in 2011 was in the Hove Standard on 7th April at Hove, where she was entered as a 1 to 1 favourite, and covered the 515 metres track in 29.92 seconds, taking home the £150 prize money.
Her instant second attempt on 24th April turned out to be a success too, when she won the Easter Ladies at Hove, being sent as the 1 to 4 favourite and completing the 515 metres race track in 29.93 seconds.
Then after a mist of four races, she stepped into the sunlight winning the 1st Coral Greyhound Olympic Trial Stakes, sent as the 4 to 7 favourite and covering the 515 metre distance in 29.89 seconds.
On 16th June, Spinkys Nod won the Coral Greyhound Olympic – Heat 3 at Hove, as the 6 to 4 favourite.
Yearning for more victories, she then won the Olympic Ladies at Hove on 30th June as the 4 to 6 favourite.
Not in a mood of giving up this soon, she shot another victory on 20th October at Hove in the Cooly Cougar Standard and as always is the case, she was sent as the 6 to 4 favourite.
Achieving a career milestone, she won three races in a row from 19th November to 1st December at Wimbledon, striking her first hat trick.
Her impeccable record has deemed her to be a wise choice to be sent in the Coral Coronation Cup, scheduled for 6th January.
