I've been home from the hospital for 3 days and in the hospital I was given Vicodin and Diaulatin alot. While I'm home though I'm prescribed Oxycodone I have been taking the Vicodin instead. I have been having severe nightmares alice in wonderland effect waking up really emotionally distraught. What medicine should I ask for???? I cannot handle this anymore and I really need the pain meds for another 3 weeks.

  1. Ultram (tramadol) is a pretty good pain med without alot of weird head stuff,  I know what you mean about the dreams on Vicodin

  2. Have you considered Darvocet? It is not an NSAID, it has Tylenol type medication in it. I was given it when I was pregnant for really bad headaches. Also Fioricet, about the same as Darvocet.

  3. also on pain meds. for operations 5 now in last 18 months.diaulatin pain pump in hospital and at home for first three months after 3rd surgery given hydrocodone/vicodin also flexerill for muscle spasms they helped to keep me asleep but made mouth dry.Every pain relief has side effects can be problem if addiction runs in genes or if been on for long time right now not taking nothing for a week and cant get 5 minutes sleep now getting very frustrating and seems like pain is double from when first started although i feel more alert and awake
