Question:

After taking long walks, my vision seems to extend, warp things I look at. Any ideas?

When I walk outside for 10 minutes or more and I look around at trees, buildings etc, they seem to extend very far beyond me. I don't get dizzy, the vision is very clear and normal, only the 'stretching'. It 'looks' to me like the world is warping and moving away from me when this happens. Also, if I look down at the ground or asphalt after walking it looks exactly the way a pond does after throwing a pebble it, with wripples and waves.

Again, I feel completely fine when this happens, and it happens every time I go for a somewhat brisk walk.

My theory is just that when I'm really focusing on walking, my eyes shift somehow and then it takes some time for them to re-adjust? Only serious responses please.

  1. You could have an astigmatism. I had the same problem. I would look around at things or go a while without blinking, and my vision would either blur or things would seem to stretch- like you said/ extend beyone what they should. Turns out I had an astigmatism. Go to the eye doctor though. Yeah, but focusing on something for too long seemed to do that to me.
