  1. eat lots of pasta the day before and bananas before your race and drink plenty of water

  2. ..That's kinda weird.  You shouldn't be feeling that bad after 100m.  You should tell someone about it because it could be a result of what the first guy said.

  3. If you want to e-mail me danieljenright@yahoo.com for some in depth details on how to get faster, please do.

Otherwise, you need to do two things...

    1) Get in better shape. Do this by doing 120-meter sprints in practice IF you are ONLY a 100-meter sprinter. The reason that you need to do 120-meter sprints for a 100-meter dash is because most 100-meter dash runners start to decrease in speed around the 80-85-meter mark. Some before, some after. But, it is highly rare for someone to hold top speed through 100-meters. By training and running 120-meter sprints in practice, when you run the 100-meter dash in a meet not only will it seem shorter, you'll be in better shape and won't decrease speed as fast. If you're training for the 200-meter dash, do the same thing except with 240-meter sprints.

    2) Make sure you are properly hydrated and healthy on race day. You shouldn't be water logged, but you should drink at least 8-12 oz. of water 30-minutes before the race and have dranken ample amounts of water throughout the day.

  4. dehydration, iron deficiency, lack of potasium there just a few that could be possible

oh and to get faster: train, better technique, eat well, drink plenty of water and get the right gear

  5. If you feel this after only 100 meters you need to work on your stamina. But it could also be part of the answer above.

how to improve speed-  run on the balls of your feet

                                            - Arms at 90 degree angle

                                            - Come out of blocks at 45 degree angle and gradually rise
