  1. After the fusion there are two possibilities =

    1 ) Their haploid nuclei fuse too = then the ploidy is DIPLOID

    2 ) The somatic union does not result in the nuclear fusion immediately and the two haploid nuclei retain their separate identity . Then the cell is said to be ' DIKARYOTIC ' = that is two nucleated . Each one of them is HAPLOID .
