After the last shuttle flight, should the US mothball our manned space program to save money?

1.US tax payers cannot afford it.

2. It would reduce the size of Big Government

3. The private sector has demonstrated that they can put a man in space -- let them take over without Government hand-out.

4. Other countries -- Red China -- are willing to spend their money on it, let them go broke.

5. It does nothing to solve world problems: war, hunger, disease, poverty, pollution, ignorance.

6. I still haven't gotten my rocket pack and Tang tastes bad.

  1. I believe that they will be for quite some time.. they have learned all they can from the shuttle platform...  


  2. No. Space truly is our last frontier. Eventually we as a planet will need to slip the surly bonds of Earth. Unless we keep it up now, we'll never succeed. The stars have always represented something better to us, why should we give up on them now?

  3. Yes. That space exploration really bores me.

  4. Yeah, thats exactly what we need.  A larger shift from science than we've already endured over the past 8 years.  If we had spent what we spent on Iraq on the space program; we'd probably all have summer condos on the moon by now.

    Go back to the dark ages buddy.
