  1. c- gave in. they were weak because of the foreign diseases the spanish brought (aztecs died from catching colds because their immune systems couldn't handle it) also they couldn't fight against the spanish weapons- guns, cannons etc  


  2. The correct answer is c. The Spanish brought diseases (i.e. malaria, smallpox) to the Aztecs and they were not used to the diseases, so they died from that. The Aztecs had bows and arrows, while the Spanish had guns, cannons, etc.  So the Aztecs were weak and could not fight anymore. Assimilation- is the coercing of one culture on another culture. That is why present-day Mexico is Catholic, because the Spanish is Catholic.
