After the near disaster Friday night, did the handbags arrive at Geelong?

I am scared sh*tless that Geelong will lose this game, not even close and embarrassment. Can somebody assure me to chill a bit, that Geelong will win Saturday afternoon?

I was so nervous Friday morning here in America, I couldn't listen to the game on the Internet. I also couldn't sleep.

Mark (Choco) Williams got into Geelong's head a few weeks ago and I am sure he will talk sh*t all week and the Cats will worry about it.

Do you take Blake out and bring in King? Do you take N.Ablett out and bring in Hawkins?

Geelong won the VFL premiership Sunday, can they pull off the double?

I want Geelong to win, I just don't think they have the mind to forget about Port Adelaide's taunting and Choco's mouth.

What do you all think?

  1. You want assurance?  How's this?  The Cats never choke in the GF.  After the small, medium and large losses in the 90's (the pizza GF's), how can you ask for assurance?

Look, I'm an Essendon supporter and as such will be barracking for the Victorian side in any GF, but Port absolutely thumped North on the weekend.  Now you guys did too, but I get the strong feeling that the Cats played their best, whereas Port clearly took their foot off the pedal in the last quarter - they could have won by another 5 goals if they were so inclined.

And another thing ... to all the Cats supporters out there - you forgot to cut the price-tag off your scarf.

I think you may have to strap yourselves in for the much anticipated family-sized loss.

  2. They should take out Blake and put King in because blake cant kick for bananas and leave Nathan ablett  because he has more expeirence than hawkins and hes kicked 30 something goals and is 4th on geelongs goallkicking!!!

p.s if there the real deal which people have said all year they

shouldnt play any different because of mark williams taunts (which he does to every other threatening team )

  3. I'll be there on Saturday gfc-b with my gf and two young fellas!  (Just won in the ballot for tickets .... wooooohooooooo!)

I think Friday will be a big wake up call for the Cats.  Bomber was obviously less than impressed but his public demeanour was cool.  I reckon the boys in the shed would have had it made quite clear to them.

The message received would have been similar to the famous box of lambs hearts.  I reckon they'll bury the hoodoo this week but of course I'm nervous!

There's no question about this teams toughness.  Previous hand baggers would have folded when things started going wrong (30 seconds into the game :-S)

Besides - this will be the first Grand Final I've been to since 1963!  They didn't have Ray A in 89 :-)

Oh - and I wouldn't change a thing barring injury concerns.  First player back in would be a third ruckman though - poor Kingy he would be first ruck for any other team bar Port.

  4. dont worry

    geelong will win by 55pts

  5. Firstly to the comment about the price tags on our scarfs; nice one, but really after every season without that which we want so badly, some of us figure it's us and this or that is bad luck(we are pretty cracked), we buy alot of new merchandise, I get new jumpers most years and have so many hats and scarfs it's just not funny.

Okay, for the rest....calm down for Christs sake mate. No more mentioning handbags either. We've got the list, the game, everything. We'll beat Port. We'll beat Port. This is your mantra. Picture Tommy with a Premiership cup, holding it up on Saturday.

Cannot wait, got tickets. GO GEELONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. Many share your passion wanting  the Cats to win.   It obviously fits the occasion,  that both teams finished 1 and 2, and are now playing for Grand Final honors.    Both had massive wins against the Roos,   and equally,.. both have also had extreme "Good Luck".       Port, 3 pt qualifying winners over West Coast and Geelong 5 pt Preliminary final winners over Collingwood .     To ease your nervous tension, you could take from that, .....your Cats are 2 pts better off  on "Finals" form, ....and will  win by that Margin!

Certainly , all indications considering Ports  5 Pt win over the Cats in the final rounds, indicate a close encounter.     In the Preliminary final  the Cat's   were an embarrasement ,winning by 5 pts, with 9 all Australians  to Collingwoods nil , while the Magpies had 7 players 21 or under, and  the cats   1.

Another MAJOR problem for the Cats is their local newspaper !

On Saturday morning it claimed the Cats had mashed the pies...they  HADN'T ...today (monday ) it says ABOUT  Pt Adelaide ... to the Cats Players ....OPERATION BIG HEADS ...wipe the smiles off their faces! ...... Great ammo for 'Choco' Williams...a massive reason why Cats haven't won a flag in 40 years ...they believe their own c**p !!
