After the water finishes refilling in the toilet tank - does the fill valve need to be replaced , if -?

water drips through the refill tube into the overflow pipe ? It does this for several minutes after the tank has refilled , after flushing .

  1. If the water level is below the overflow than I would say that the valve is not shutting off as designed. You may have a grain of sand or something else that is not allowing a good seal on the valve or it's just plain worn out. Just replace it. It not that hard.


  2. the ball floater is not were it should be, tryt bending it up so that the water stops sooner.

  3. Look at the refil tube. the small 1/4" line that goes from the ballcock to the flushvalve. It should be above the tank water level. If its not then pull it up so it is. It can syphon the water out of the tank a little bit then stop.

    if thats ok then just replace the ballcock and you should be fine

  4. You may only need to turn the set s***w (clockwise) found on the top of the fill valve.Turn it ,release some water from the tank in order to get the water below the overflow tube.

    Many people will bend the float rod DOWN to change the water level not knowing the easier way is to turn the set s***w,which by the way is what it is designed for.
