the instructions don't specify whether all of the items can be washed together. i know that putting it with other laundry will ruin the other pieces, but does it really make a difference with other tye-dyed items?

  1. If they are all tye dyed and your willing to accept the results... I wouldn't.

ps. soaking them in salt water should help, lock the colors in.

  2. Washing items that have been tye dyed different colors together can result in disastrous consequences as my sister discovered when she washed her red tye dyed shirt with a blue and green tye dyed skirt, the result post washing was brown everything.  Unless the pieces are all the same colors I do not suggest you wash them together.  Try and lock the color in a bit more.

Try this site for really good detailed information about how to keep the colors from blending.  The second to last paragraph is specifically about washing machines.
