Manc07 - the IRA and stuff? Are you living in the 90's. The IRA have been gone for over 10 years now. Any excuse, eh? What next - the players couldn't see each other?

  1. I wish I could have been there yesterday.... what a brilliant show of how rugby should be played... as a Springbok supporter I was pleased to see my second fav team win again. As for the singing, my god Ireland you do stand shoulder to shoulder. I think that Croke Park should be the home of Irish Rugby. Now if some bugger could beat the French!!!

  2. fabulous!!

  3. great place i live 3 miles away in coolock when Ireland came on i could hear the roar at my house great venue great game hopefully the G A A have now moved into the 21 century

  4. It isn't a beautiful stadium, but the atmosphere is definitely first class.

  5. makes you wonder why it took so long to use it in the first place - cracking stadium, fans, atmosphere and result - on ye go

my team got gubbed by a team of italian waiters on a lunch break - say no more!

  6. Superb ground!...would be better if it was an enclosed stadium and didnt have the open end but superb anyway.

  7. WELL FROM A ENGLISH MATURE POINT OF VIEW I THINK IRELAND APART FROM SHOWING ENGLAND HOW TO PLAY RUGBY , YOU SHOULD BE SO PROUD OF YOUR PEOPLE AND THE COMPOSURE SHOWN BY ALL PRESENT AT THE GREAT CROKE PARK BLOODY SUNDAY AND ALL THE OTHER c**p NATIONS HAVE THROWN AT YOU AS A WHOLE HAS ONLY EVER MADE YOU STRONGER AND PROUD.

I LIVE AND WORK CLOSLEY WITHIN THE IRISH COMMUNITY AND SEE ALL VIEWS SOME GOOD SOME BAD BUT I RESPECT THE IRISH AND THEIR PROUD HERATIDGE LET THE GAMES BEGIN AND LET US ALL BE THANKFULL OF WHAT WE ALL HAVE TO OFFER..JON

  8. a truly great arena .

but what made it even greater ,   was the  irish spectators ,

after all the hype  in the press  ,   the welcome that was given to the  english rugby team   would be second to none .

a  true reflection  of  irish  hospitality

  9. Our Croke Park Is Possibley the BEST Sports ground ever! Not only can you play Gaelic games on it, but Rugby and soccer too. The Amount of people that the grounds can hold is amazing!

    O'Driscoll is a LEGEND!!!! And O'Gara!!!! 43 -12 Bloody brilliant! Woooooooo Hooooo!

Great Pitch, Great team, Great Match!!!

  10. Look to me to be a fantastic venue with amazing atmosphere

  11. Watched the game at home on TV and thought the atmoshere came thru really well.

Although I have heard of Croke park I did not really know it's history ,So well done to the Irish for moving on although I don't really inderstand why having England playing there is any more significant than having Wales or Scotland ,as England are no more or less British than the other nations.

  12. Cool! I'm English but I live over here,  so I've seen Croker loads of times. Looked like there was a great atmosphere  in one of the best stadiums in Europe. Ireland should be proud to show it off, and well done to the GAA for opening it up to foreign sports :)   Too bad most of us were priced out of the game but I hope they take ther time rebuilding Lansdowne. Maybe we can see Croker a few more times yet.

  13. I'm from South Africa and I think its a magnificent stadium...

The capacity , the lights , the green green grass and everything surrounding it...it is really a magnificent stadium

Just wondering why you didn't start using it earlier to play International games.....

Well done for building it Ireland and keeping it in such a good shape...

  14. It was alright but I felt a bit sorry for th English team, when they scored a tri it was like soooo silent, their was no crowd for england and i bet some of them were a bit iffy, due to IRA and stuff, but the park was nice and ireland playe pretty well

  15. As a kiwi, I think the place should be torn down.  There's no way in h**l I want the All Blacks to play there. I think we will play Ireland late in the next world cup and I'd be more than a little bit nervous about playing in front of that crowd.   The park looked amazing.  I have a friend from Laois, who gave me the history lesson about a year ago and when I found out they were playing this year, no-one could make me miss it. What a game your boys played.  There really was no way u were going to lose but how I love seeing England get thumped.

  16. As punishment for what you did to the England team yesterday it should be leveled.

  17. Croke Park is the best stadium in Ireland right now.  That's why the Special Olympics were held there.  I hope the people who redeveloped Croke Park are working on Landsdowne Road too.  They did an unbelievably good job on Croker.

  18. lush

  19. Great!

  20. Fantastic. Incidentally did you witness Gerry Adams laying a wreath after the game.

It was to commemorate the slaughter of 15 English rugby players earlier on.

  21. Very nice ground. That open end does need sorting but when that happens it could join the worlds best sporting venues.
