I used to be very fond of them, but now I hate the royals, except fo beloved Diana.

There was a time I was for Camilla, but not anymore.

Truly disappointed, they despise us.

What's your opinion about them?

  1. i'm not bothered about them

    they shud pay taxes though

  2. the royal family are great and if you are making an opinon on our monarchy based on a film that we dont know how true is then i think your preety sad.

im 17 yet i still think they are great, there not cold, they are reserved, a classic thing of britishness

they do not despise us, if they did then the queen would simply go and live in balmoral and never do the over 600 events a year.

  3. You watch a piece of fiction and now are disappointed with the royals......  You believe this FICTION is true?

    Note:  Operative word is FICTION.

  4. I think you must be very young to be influenced by a film which was fiction.  Diana died in a car accident which was tragic.  She was no angel remember that, she was known to have had several affairs which broke up marriages.  Charles loved Camilla before he met Diana but was not allowed to marry her until after his divorce.  Why hate somebody when nobody knows all the facts.  The queen and the rest of her family did their grieving in private and its about time it was all laid to rest and the the princes allowed to get on with their lives and not have it brought up all the time.

  5. But are they?

Its only fiction and what we see and read is what we tend to believe.

  6. Please don't let that movie change your feelings. It was a MOVIE done by actors & written by screen play writers, it was not them & am sure they embellished many of the things in the movie.

I was very disappointed in the movie as well.

  7. Think it shows they are "normal" like anyone else. Camilla and the Toby Jug ears (Charlie) are the biggest embarrasement!

I felt sorry for Diana and fergie.

I also think Helen Mirren played her part well in this film although i did find it a bit boring.

  8. Well, I'm not very fond of Monarchy, but i do appreciate the true love between Charles and Camila. The movie picture is just fiction,

We don't know really what hapenned in the Queen's heart.

  9. According to the movie, the British wanted a state funeral for the late Diana, Princess of Wales, the standard royal funeral that any royal member would have received. However, Diana is no longer apart of the royal family since the divorce. And I agree that it would best to leave it as a private matter, and let the Spencer family make the arrangements. I think it was a very rational and logic decision on the part of The Queen.

Diana was a public figure and well loved by the public, however, as far as royal protocols go, her funeral should not have been like as if it was a funeral for The Queen. I'm sure if it was Sarah, Duchess of York who died, people wouldn't care as much, and probably no one would leave flowers at Buckingham Palace. Right? People would not give a d**n whether the royals made a public speech or not about their nation's "greatest loss" or flying a Union Flag at half mast over Buckingham Palace (a step without precedent in four centuries of royal protocol), and speaking to the nation about Diana's legacy in a live, televised address from the Palace.

The Queen's heart is not made out of cold stone, and I am positively sure she felt sadness and remorse with the news of Diana's passing, however, the Brits were just pushing it and made it worse. Diana was a public figure, and she was murdered by the media, and I believe the last thing she wanted was a public funeral. To be frank, the funeral was not for Diana, it was more for the people and what the public wanted, which is pretty selfish and not very well though out! Leave her in peace for once.

  10. Do you believe everything you watch on a screen ?

  11. I watched that and I got disappointed with it too. It all just collapsed into yet another programme about how 'poor' Princess Diana couldn't get her own way all the time. It was supposed to be a film about the Queen.  I could go on, but let's just say I think the Royal family are an amazing set of people. They have been brought up to serve the country which they do all the time and the Queen is still working 12 hours days, 7 days a week at the age of 80.They bring in a humungous amount of income into this country and I think we should give them the respect they deserve. They have faults, they are human. Let Princess Diana go for goodness sake. Don't kid yourself, she was no angel either!"

  12. Hello,

No, in my opinion Queen Elizabeth has been a great queen who was not bad looking at all as a young lady, "quietly" did great things like drive an ambulance in the middle of the blitz, a truck mechanic etc. Royalty is supposed to be on a certain level like judges and not at all be emotional, whiny, kissy huggy but be stoic and reserved under duress showing they are the symbols of the country a notch above the rest in those departments. In other words they need to be strong impartial leaders in the best and worst of times.

Furthermore what ever problems Elizabeth had in her marriage or personal life she always commanded the respect of the press and they did lay off her. I'm afraid Diana, though born with a silver spoon just was not cut out for the monarchy role.

    Cheers,

    Michael Kelly

  13. I think that you are naive. They have to remain at arms length, or they would be corrupted by their own subjects. The adulation for Diana, by millions of people who didn't know her, is similar to the simpering attitude they have for many of the soaps and their stars, they use them to fill gaps in their own lives. Totally over the top.

You let a fictitious portrayal of the Queen, by an establishment that is anti-Royal, (including Mirren) change your views, but you don't explain why. You really are grist to the indoctrinators mill.

  14. sometimes things of movies can be wrong

  15. Although soem of the stuff is based on what happened during that period, some of the stuff was what was thought to have been said like the scene where Tony Blair first meets the Queen.

Although i do not agree with how the Queen handled the situation regarding the death of Diana, and was right about the TV broadcast that she gave was too cold and impersonal, what you have to rememeber is that in all the years that the Queen has been on the throne she has never come up against anything like the public grief after Diana died. All her life is centered around protocol and she thought that she knew the Britian and her subjects as the stiff upper lip and quiet grieving nation when infact it was completley the opposite.

The woman was thrust into the job at a very young age after her father had died, and i know how hard things are when you have lost a parent at a young age, she had that to contend with then on top of that you have to be Queen of your country, and i think thats not an easy thing to do,yes i know there are people who may say"Well yes but she didnt have to do it she could have said no" well yes but when you are trained from a young age to know that one day you are going to be Queen maybe she thought that was her duty, which is why she has stayed as Queen for as long as she has and no abdicated and given the job to her son.

And let's face it would the country accept "Queen Camilla"?

  16. You know it's not a documentary right?

  17. I'm with you. I personally, don't like camille or anyother. I only really like Diana.

  18. it made me feel some sympathy for the Queen , and hate charles and the rest.

yea i only love diana and her princes!

  19. i have a pretty low opinion of them to be honest they have become highly overrated since the death of Diana.

they are a mere tourist attraction (possibly?) and thats it! but even so..... who the h**l would come here just to see the royal family? i certainly wouldnt!

hmmmm can they still hang you for treason?

  20. You are going to be shattered when you find there are no Unicorns.

  21. This "Royalty" lark is a living lie.

You know, when you live a lie you are trapped from the truth till crunch time comes,  Diana's death  called the shots.

The dissolution of Marriage loaded a supposition that the Motherhood of Diana was also a figment  i.e Motherhood is less honourable that  hoodwink "title".

This of course was a "confusion" cultivated to put  the Diana persona outside the "royal" tent

No this doesn't change my opinion of "royalty"..

  22. The fictional story of "The Queen" is just a point of view. We do not know what they went through in their personal lives.  They are human too.  I am sure that Charles was even affected by Di's death. After all, he does care about his boys and Di was their mother.

It was a well written story. Good actors.
