  1. The minimum for a single person is $300 and can be any amount between that and $600 depending on the net tax liability (between $600 and $1200 for a couple). So for example, if the net tax due was $783 for a single person, you'd get $783.

The stimulus payment phases out after $75k for a single person and $150k for a married couple, so if the phase-out applies the amount could be less than the minimum stated above.

  2. www.irs.gov has the criteria.

  3. all checks will  be in increments of $300.

  4. i dont no

  5. Not all checks are $600.  People who had less than $600 tax liability get the amount of their tax liability with a minimum of $300.

If an individual has AGI over $75,000 for the year, or a joint return has AGI over $150,000, payments start to phase out - it will be $50 less for each $1000 you are over the limit.

  6. If you made at least $3000 in qualifying income in 2007, your single check should be a minimum of $300.  If you paid between $300 to $600 in federal tax, your check will be for the full amount of tax paid.  If you paid over $600 in federal tax, then your check will be for $600.  Single filers with incomes over $75,000 will have their rebates reduced for their high income, then phased out entirely.  Double those amounts for married filing jointly, and plus $300 each per qualifying child under age 17.  See www.irs.gov for more information.  Many people are not getting $600 since they did not read carefully, the IRS specifies "up to", it depends on the federal tax you paid.
