  1. I think normally they will just take the baby and keep an eye on him for a while until they are confident everythings ok... maybe 15 mins or so...

They took my little girl for around an hour...i was soo on edge..but i had a c-section soo..it all depends...

I also strongly disagree with parting the mother and baby at birth...i believe they are the key moments for bonding....

  2. for me. i deliverd and the docters never left the room until i was good and he was good. so it took mins and that was it. but i was a t a military doc so im not sure if thats how other places are

  3. The dr will be working on you, stitches if needed and the nurse will do 2 assessments called APGAR on the baby at 1 minute and 5 minutes after birth.  If everything appears normal the baby will stay in the room with your for about an hour for bonding.  Then the baby will be taken to the nursery for the pediatrician to assess and the baby will get the first bath.  That usually takes about an hour.

  4. Depends how many people are working on you... for a non-complicated birth it could be as little as 15 minutes from the time you see your baby until the time you are left alone to bond for a bit.

  5. they gave bubs straight to me and I got to cuddle her.  They just checked her while she was on me, and me.  I cant really remember what they did because I was to focused on bubs.  They gave her a proper check when I was ready to get up and shower.  Proberly only took 5 mins?

good luk and congrats in advance

EDIT: She was never taken from me and skin on skin bonding was first priority.  They could see she was healthy while she lay on my chest so there was no need to take her.  She never left my room, even when they checked her and gave her vitamin K.  Im a New Zealander though so maybe things are different in your country but do try and have skin on skin as soon as bubs is born.  It promotes breast feeding and is good for bonding with bub

  6. My doctor never left the room until he was done with me. I had stitches with both my kids but it only took 10-15 minutes to stitch me up and by that time they were done with the baby and let me have him/her back.

  7. it depends if u get a C section, stitches, etc...

For me it took about an hr altogether; I got stitches (45 min), to examning her took about 30 min, she also got a bath.
