somehow our toilet overflowed and I used the plunger to get the clog out. It was just toilet paper (our toilet must be a real piece of c**p, no pun intended). so do I like flush it or what? it already overflowed onto our floor and i just got that cleaned up so i don't wanna risk anything.

  1. flush it to make sure it doesn't need to be plunged again. next time, i would wait to clean up until you're sure the problem is solved! best wishes

  2. just flush it

  3. Rim it out with a toilet snake.

  4. uh yeah.. plunge then flush then you should be good.

  5. I would wash my hands and ask my dad to help me. haha.

  6. Try it again. Put some towels on the floor to soak the overflow if it happens again.

  7. HAHAHA lol yeah just flush it and clean the rest up.  i konw because all my toilets in my house get clogged at least 2 times a week.

  8. wash ur hands

  9. Flush once to make sure it goes down if the water lvel does not plunge again until water level drops repeat as many times as needed.

  10. plunge until the water is low then use a large bucket - fill it with water and pour it in the bowl kinda fast. if it is unclogged the toiltet will flush but if it isn't you can stop before it overflows again. - Don't flush

  11. run a plummers snake down it.. if you dont have one you can get one at the hardware store for 20-30 bucks

  12. use a bucket and pour water into the toilet slowly. as the water begins to rise, it will begin to flush. stop pouring water in. if the level goes down, then you are probably safe to flush. if it stays the same or begins to rise, then you'll need to plunge some more and repeat the process.  if the water level is already high (more than half full) then it's still clogged up and if you flush it's going to overflow again. plunge until the water level goes down and try the bucket thing.

  13. that's all you can do. it's a c**p shoot (pun intended).

  14. You need something like this http://www.screwfix.com/prods/11325/Hand...

I've got one and it works a treat for blocked toilets.

  15. turn off the water valve. it's under the tank near the floor. turn it all the way off, then when you flush again, no more water will make it overflow. after you've done that, plunge again. then turn the silver water k***s back on and it will fill the tank and all should be good

  16. yeah sorry you got to try and flush it again.

I know thats the last thing you probably want to hear.

  17. you got to try and flush it again.

  18. i'd say, get some long gloves and a plastic bag and take all the... stuff out of the toilet, then flush it.

have you hand on the main water valve (near the floor) to shut it off in case it over flows again. lefty loosie, righty tighty!

  19. Take the lid off the tank before flushing it. There is a floating mechanism that rises and sinks with the water level. If the toilet begins to overflow, pull that mechanism up. That will stop the flow of water until it's released again. Make sure somebody is with you, or you'll be stuck holding it until help arrives, or you'll risk overflow.

EDIT: Somebody recommended plunging it quickly when you think it's about to overflow, but the problem is, when you put a plunger in the toilet, obviously, it will only cause the water level to rise even more.

  20. Yes, you flush it, and if it begins to clog plunge the c**p (I would have said h**l instead, but I needed the pun) out of it as fast as you can before it overflows. Then after the clog is out, flush it again to clean the plunger
