I just got a BFP! 6 months of trying! I called the ob/gyn's office and they said she usually sees patients for the first time at 7 weeks. That seems like a long time to me. When did you first go in?

  1. Congratulations! I just got my BFP yesterday am:) I called the Dr. and they are seeing me on Sept. 9th. I'm pretty anxious, I had my husband buy me more pregnancy tests just to make sure it stays positive until then! haha.

  2. That is normal for your ob, they will usually do a test and determine if you are really pregnant, and they may also do an ultrasound to determine if the pregnancy is where it should be and to determine due date. It's best to do this at 7 - 8 weeks because you really won't be able to see anything until then.

  3. I went in the first time around 7-8 weeks, but you typically don't see a dr, they do a urine pregnancy test, and give you a Rx for pre-natals, and the nurse will talk to ya about healthy pregnancy stuff...

  4. 7 weeks is not late - many doctors won't see you until 12 weeks...you're probably already at least 4 weeks along if the test came back positive.  I actually went in around 5 1/2 weeks to get my prenatal vitamin prescription and while I was there, she gave me a quick abdominal scan.  You couldn't even see the sac on the ultrasound, so the doctor told me to come back in 2 weeks....i was worried sick for those 2 weeks..at 7 1/2 weeks, the sac and the fetal pole was all visible.  Enjoy your BFP, the appointment will be here before you know it.

  5. 6 weeks pregnant. WOW what a blessig congrats. Go earlier if you want to its not lkes she can say no.

  6. my obgyn didnt see me until i was 7 weeks, but as soon as i got my BFP i went straight to my local doctor and got blood tests done the same day i got the positive and got the results the next morning just to confirm the HPT. Good luck and congrats, pregnancy is the best!!

  7. Congratulations!!

I have 4 children including one set of twins and 7 weeks is typical.  I usually had an ultrasound within days of my appt. to see that all was well.  Stay calm - if that's possible :) and get plenty of rest!  Best wishes!!

  8. well thats about right they usually say that prolly due to the amount of women that miscarry before that time

  9. My doctor's office does not want to see patients until they are 12 weeks along.

  10. It took me 11 months to get pregnant. Anyhow i tested 7 days before my period was due and got a positive and then i went to the doctor 2 days later. He confirmed it and wrote me out prenatal vitamins, asked a bunch of questions, did a pap smear on me, blood work and gave me my due date.

  11. CONGRATULATIONS!!

I went to my doctor around a week after I got a BFP to get the pregnancy confirmed and to basically ''to get the ball rolling'' ...

To get Routine blood test done, sign maternity form, request for u/s scan etc!

    Best of Luck! :)
