Aftermarket components?

why do my factory speakers sound better than the eclipse 3 way 6 x 9s i got....i hooked them up and made sure they were polarized right and used the balance and fader and clearly the factorys are louder and more bass....i also tried some alpine type s 6x9 and got the same results...my head unit is alpine cda 9827

Some car factory put expensive speakers in there cars now, example Cadillac has Bose speakers, but also most car have there speakers made to handle more bass, kinda like the speakers you find in a home theather. Aftermarkets design speakers to handle more treble than bass, and target those looking for good quality. Usually if you buy aftermarket speakers you have a subwoofer to handle the bass so they plan this, its also a marketing technique to get you to want to buy a subwoofer from them.

  3. i had this same problem. im saving up for a 4 channel amp. maybe that will help. i've only been in the car audio thing for a few months but subwoofers are a must in my opinion now. That's where you get bass in the aftermarket. The speakers don't put out bass in aftermarket. In factory speakers, they try to get bass into the speakers. Speakers aren't meant for bass in my opinion
