Question:

Afternoon tea at Harrods, what to wear and expect!?

My Auntie has invited me to afternoon tea at Harrods as part of my 18th birthday present (it's not a usual affair for either of us!). It says there is a smart dress code, so what should I wear and what can I not wear?! I have no idea what it's going to be like other than involving tea! Argh!

Thanks :)

  1. To be honest it doesn't matter what you wear. It's not as formal as say 'The Ritz'. You will get tea, cakes and sandwiches. Champagne if you want. There are quite a few resturants/ tea places within Harrods.

  2. It is not as formal as you might think, but I would dress appropriately.  A nice pair of slacks and shirt or blouse would be fine.  Have fun and Happy Birthday!

  3. Ohh la de da. Be your self. Don't change who u are.

  4. what a nice thing to do!just not jeans and t-shirts or sneakers.have tons of fun and happy birthday!and yes expect over priced-but worth it -food and drinks!

  5. formal blouse, and skirt or trousers, heels

  6. DON't wear a cap (they won't let you in)...and expect to pay extortionate prices!

  7. Well i know from experience EVERYONE in London wears black, i went to London:] and i wore colors. oh yeah i brought color to that city. Well you could wear a brown skirt, white shirt, and brown suit jacket. also some small heels wouldn't hurt. I love Harrods i spent 300 pounds there :D and of course i'm from America so i spent $600 dollars actually. It's really easy to get carried away with things.

    Happy Birthday! Have fun!
