Afternoon tea in London?

I want to take my mum for afternoon tea at one of the hotels, but she is allergic to Gluten and i no they do sandwiches and cakes etc which she cant eat. so does any1 know if they cater for coelics?

Even though i only want to take her for the atmosphere there is no point spending that money for a cup of tea!

I would email or call Claridges and The Ritz Picadilly and ask them what special afternoon tea they can arrange. I have had luck asking for other similar special teas from these two hotels before.

The top places for traditional Afternoon Tea in London are The Ritz, The Savoy and Claridges.  You're talking about £40 a head.  They should be able to cater to you by making special gluten free bread and cakes, but you will need to let them know in advance.  I would ring all three and see what they can do for you.

The most famour hotel for Afternoon Tea is The Ritz. Contact them and I'm sure they can accomodate your mother's needs. They probably have to do worse for all those celebrities!

On a recent trip to London, instead of afternoon tea, we went to Selfridges and had champagne and chocolates, you can also have oysters if you fancy, not sure if this is suitable!

The best hotels will gladly cater for your Mum as long as you arrange it in advance. Phone them up and make your requirements clear when you book. Be charming but firm. And tip them well at the end of your tea.

You could try ringing the hotels and asking them if they would be able to cater for your Mum or not.  The best ones are The Ritz, Claridges, and The Goring but if you search on the internet you will find lots more too.  Good luck and enjoy!
