i usally run a 100 meter dash in an average 12.5 secs PR 12.20 without spikes or blocks but today there was some wind.. i hadnt run in a week

i ran today 100 meter dash consistentally 13.5- 13.8 same except i relized i had been running agianst the wind the whole time is it really possible that some wind could shed a sec or more off my 100 meter time?

i also tried the long jump and i was agiasnt the wind for that 2 while i usally get around 22 feet today i could only get like 18ft...

  1. When running against the wind, it is like running up a hill. Increase your turn over rate instead of your stride. Its the opposite  when running with the wind, increase your stride and lower turn over.

  2. it could be the wind, or just an off day. either one.

  3. Yes the wind does have an effect cuz it pulls you back and makes it harder to run fast
