I read in a magazine interview that Agave sweetener doesnt affect your blood sugar levels...

Could this be true!! Or is it just a load of....

If it doesnt, do you know of any other NATURAL sweeteners that dont affect blood-sugar levels. I dont do aspartame etc. (gives me migranes)

Im interested because diabetes runs in my family

  1. Have you checked into Stevia?  It's the only sweetener I can use.(I'm "allergic" to all the artifical chemical sweeteners - like aspertame.)

Stevia is an herbal "supplement" that is very sweet and has been used in foreign countries for a long time as a non-caloric sweetener.  You can find it in the US as a nutritional supplement (like at GNC or some health food stores).  The FDA hasn't approved it for use as a sweetener, which is why it's called a supplement.

I've not heard of Agave, I'll have to do some research on that.
