Age and entry level marketing jobs.?

I’m 26 and seriously considering going to school to get an (undergraduate) marketing degree. If I start now and finish in 4 years will I have trouble competing against people who are younger than me for entry level jobs? I don’t want to put in time, effort and money and not have career when I’m done.

  1.      Going back to college could never be a bad decision. If you are up for the challenge and hard work, then go for it. If you are not yet ready for the commitment, then wait a little while longer to make your decision. It could cost you a lot (in loans) if you end up going and then flunk out.

When you go back, be serious about it and kick some ***. Don't worry about the younger people. You could find yourself working for someone younger than you when you are older whether you go to college or not. If you can find the confidence in yourself, then it won't matter how old the competition is. Also, finding a job in your field while you are going to college could prove a win/win with a foot in the door, who's gonna kick it out of the way? You or them?

  2. Only you can answer the question "is college really worth it for me?"  If you do not get your degree, you will probably not get as much in salary as someone with a degree.

I have worked for large and small corporations.  The smaller companies usually hire those without college degrees and pay them very little.  The larger companies demand college degrees before they even interview for a job.  Larger companies have better benefit packages.
