Age difference requiring pugs?

i already have a two-year-old pug and am considering buying a new one to help with his separation anxiety and for companionship. Is two too old? Thanks. I'm sure he would love him but is there too much of an age difference?

  1. Age has nothing to do with it.  It is the way you introduce the two pugs and how you handle their first interactions.

  2. Definately not too old.  At two your pug should have plenty of spunk to keep up with a puppy.

  3. Two is fine.  Really, age isn't the factor, the current dog's behavior is.

Is the dog fully housebroken and obedience trained?  If so, then it's fine to introduce him to a puppy.  If not, get him housebroken, get him through obedience training, then get the puppy.  A well behaved, housebroken dog will help teach the puppy good habits.  A ill-behaved dog will make having a puppy all that much harder.

  4. It's not too much, but be aware that there will be some getting used to for each dog.
