  1. 15 or 16, depending on your state laws.

  2. you dont have to serve alcohol as a hostess, only the servers and bartenders serve alcohol, and still they only have to be 18 to serve it, you only have to be 21 to drink it. i worked at red lobster as a hostess, and applebees was right across the street. i did it when i was 17. you can be as young as like 15 if you can handle it, but most places generally like to higher older teens like 16 and up.

  3. i think 21, in order to serve alcohol. I dunno if places like that have alcohol, but my guess is that they do, if not, then at least 18. hint: many ppl don't go to places like that to be waited on by kids.

  4. Hostess is a position that a minor may be hired for. Depending upon the state laws they can be hired as young as 16. As a minor the employer would be required to follow state laws with regards to scheduling. There would be a maximum number of hours the employee could work during school nights and on weekends. They would also have to follow the more stringent break laws. States vary on the number of hours and you should find out from the Department of Labor what they are before you go for an interview (if you are interested). The more informed you are the more likely you will be considered.

    Good luck.
