Age limit to become a pilot in India ?

I'm 17 years old and in the 10th grade. I heard about SPL and it says only 16 years old can get that and later PPL and there you have to be 17 ? Is that all true or can I finish my collage and and do all this ?

Can anyone explain me how it does what collage I have to go in India.

Does the age limit really matters or can I get the SPL and PPL after collage and go for CPL ?

well,I think u can give the UPSC exams for this..the forms are available in the post office of CST & Dadar (E).once you pass this exam you will be called up for an SSb interview which is of 5 days & incl. PPT,Physical test, & so on.....

since u are very young I suggest you to Join a college with Science stream having Maths & Physics as major subject & then Join the Air force of Naval NCC in the college.

I think this will surely help you out.

Keep the habit of reading newspaper & G,K book.

Hey dude. You are I are the same case. I'm in 10th grade too.

Well, there is no need join any college to become a pilot. You have to join only flight schools. The minimum qualification to become a pilot in India are, 1. You should have passed 10+2 with Maths and Science. 2. You should have scored above 60% marks in Maths and Science. 3. Should be able to read, write and speak good English 4. Sholud be 17 yrs old.

If you complete the above mentioned, you can join a flight schools to get your CPL. But I would prefer you to do any engineering degree and then join flight schools because there a lots of pilots applying for the job. Only a few get selected. So if you have an engineering degree then you would have a better probability of selected.

You can do get your CPL in India or abroad. Usually CPL along with PPL takes around 8 to 12 months abroad and 15 to 24 months in India.
