Your final destinations (New York) laws are the ones you must be concerned with.  I don't care if Puerto Rico allows 10 year olds to have beer, when you get home to New York, the cops are not going to say " Oh, if you bought that in Puerto Rico your alright!"  You must follow the law of the state.


  2. When I was 18 I actually brought back 2 bottles of wine from france, but I had them packed in my suitcase in my checked luggage. I never had any problems bringing them home. But they were gifts for my family, and not for my own consumption.
