  1. yes, legal age to drink on Royal Carribbean is 21.

they will not allow underage drinking. PERIOD.

    have a good cruise.

  2. I'm going on that ship next week & I cruise w/ Royal all the time. You can drink beer & wine at the age of 18 but must be 21 for hard liquor. Clubs are open to people 18 & older w/ valid ID and your sea pass card.

  3. its 18 if u have a permission card from your parents but they must be on the ship. ur room card wont have any punctures that way they know if u can drink or not when u charge booze to ur card

  4. You have to be 18 with a valid I.D. to get in to the clubs. The bars you do not have to be any certain age. To drink you will need to be 21 and show them a valid I.D.

  5. Royal Caribbean recently changed their drinking policy to 21 for ALL alcohol.  At one time you could get beer and wine with a parents permission, but due to the excessive drinking by underage drinkers Royal Caribbean does inforce this new policy.  In fact, your sea pass card will be incoded with your age so you wont be able to purchase any.  The bad thing, if you were to go on the ship to celebrate your  21st birthday, and the birthday is during the cruise, you still won't be able to drink.  Royal Caribbean bases the drinking age on what age you are when you board the ship.  You can go to the disco, casino and lounges if you are 18, but again you wont be able to drink.  Below is directly from the Royal Caribbean site:

    ALCOHOL POLICY

Effective as of all sailings commencing on or after July 28, 2006, the minimum drinking age for all alcoholic beverages on all Royal Caribbean International ships is 21.

However, on cruises departing from European and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically lower than 21, a parent who is sailing with his or her son(s) and/or daughter(s) who is between the ages of 18 to 20, may sign a waiver allowing the 18 to 20 year old to consume alcoholic beverages.

The 18- to 20 year-old must agree to comply with Royal Caribbean's policies, including among other things, agreeing to not provide alcoholic beverages to any other person, regardless of age. Restrictions apply, and this policy is subject to change without notice.

Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption or any other use. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing. Security may inspect containers (water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, luggage etc.) and will dispose of containers holding alcohol. Royal Caribbean's Guest Conduct Policy may be enforced, up to and including disembarkation, if a guest violates any alcohol policy. Guests under the age of 21 will not have alcohol returned to them.

Guests who violate any alcohol policies, (over consume, provide alcohol to people under age 21, demonstrate irresponsible behavior, or attempt to conceal alcoholic items at security and or luggage check points or any other time), may be disembarked or not allowed to board, at their own expense, in accordance with our Guest Conduct Policy.

Royal Caribbean reserves the right to revoke or otherwise restrict drinking privileges of any guest, regardless of age.

In some of the caribbean islands you can, Mexico does not even check for ID.  Grand Cayman at some of the hot spots like Senior Frogs..etc..do not card you.  My daughter went with some of our friends, she was 15 and walked right up to the bar and ordered a bud light and was served it, no questions asked.

  6. You will be in international waters. Age for drinking = 18. It's why so many senior school classes go on cruises for spring break

  7. You can go on a Royal Caribbean cruise if your under 21, but you can't drink anything.  My parents went without us kids, and they said it was annoying because everybody there was drunk(except for them), and there were only about 5 or 6 families with kids on the whole ship.

  8. On Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas (which cruises in the Caribbean) you have to be 21 to drink alcoholic beverages ...

To go to the adult clubs you have to be at least 18.  If you are a teenager under the age of 18 you can go to the Living Room or Fuel.  The Living Room is a place for teen under the age of 18 to hang out.  Fuel is an under 18 teen disco with a soft drink bar.
