Age of consent in Australia?

Hey, ive got a few questions on the age of consent in australia in perticular queensland. Firstly im 18, and my girlfriend is 16, now according to wat i found that shud mean its legal for us to have s*x, however when i turn 19 before she turns 17 does that make the age difference between us too great? i wasnt sure how to interpret the information i found on government websites etc, please help

No age of consent is age of consent. The 3 year law applies to say a 17 year old having s*x with a 13 year old...etc... Anything over the age of 16 is legal as long as it is consentual both ways.
