Age of sword needed.?

Question

I have recently purchased a royal naval sword, it has the makers name of E WITAKER'S of CHATHAM (Kent) engraved on the blade, it was made around the time of King GeorgeVI, as not only does the blade have GR enscribed (as do all RN swords)on it but also on the belt (later belts have ER enscribed on).

Does anyone know about E Whitakers (They used to be at 28 Military Road, Chatham).

I need to date the sword, it has a small number 4 on the hand guard.

From my records about Whitaker, It sounds like you have a 1902 Naval Officers Sword The description says it has a straight blade 31in long made by: E.J WHITAKER NAVAL OUTFITTERS, MILITARY ROAD CHATAM. The blade is etched with crown, fouled anchor, Royal Arms and foliage, brass guard and mounts Lions Head Pommel, gilt wire bound white fish skin coverd grip and a folding side plate.

Of course its pretty darn hard for me to tell without pictures, but that would be my best guess. So, it would be pretty easy to say sometime in the first decade of the 20th century.
