    16:  Student Pilot--Airplane

    16:  Private Pilot--Glider

    17:  Private pilot--Airplane

    18:  Commercial Pilot

    23:  Airline Transport Pilot

  3. What is the maximum age for getting a flying license?

  4. there is no maximum to answer the dude belows question my dad is 51 and he is getting his after flying *cough* without one

but faa requires 16 to fly with a passenger 15 to fly solo 14 to fly gliders

  5. Actually, here's the correct answer, per FAR 61.103:

You can take flying lessons at any age.

To solo, you have to be 16.  To get your CERTIFICATE, you have to be 17.  Here's a copy of the regs:

    Sec. 61.103

    Eligibility requirements: General.

To be eligible for a private pilot certificate, a person must:

    (a) Be at least 17 years of age for a rating in other than a glider or balloon.

And, by the way, there is NO SUCH THING as a Pilot 'LICENSE'.  It's a Certificate. I have one.

  6. you can be any age as long as u can touch the rudder pedals but if u want a private pilot license u would have to be age 17 to get a commercial pilot license u would have to be 18 and after u get a commercial u can go for your atpl or airline transport pilot license which u would have to be 21 yrs old to get and have over 1500 hrs flight experience
