Borussia Dortmund’s Kevin GroBkreutz on Arsenal's radar, reveals agent - Bundesliga News
It has recently been reported that Borussia Dortmund winger, Kevin GroBkreutz, is on Arsenal’s radar for next season. The player’s agent also confirmed of Arsenal’s interest in his client but denied having received any formal bid from the English club.
GroBkreutz has been in supreme touch this season and played an influential role during the 2010/11 campaign, which saw Dortmund lift the Bundesliga crown. The winger has already scored thrice this term from just the nine league games, compared to eight he
scored last season.
The agent, Konstantin Liolios, told that the Emirates outfit have long been interested in his client but are yet to come up with an offer. He further added that GroBkreutz would certainly consider a move out of Germany if he ever plans to leave the reigning
German champions.
Kevin, on the other hand, admitted of interest from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 but refrained from revealing his future plans. He told that currently there are no problems at Signal Iduna Park and especially being part of the first team line-up, it would be difficult to leave
his home town club.
While talking to Bild, the agent further stated, "We are aware of the English interest in Kevin. However, there hasn't been any personal contact with Arsenal so far.”
Arsenal’s head scout, Steve Rowley, made note of the winger during Dortmund’s Champions League game against Olympiacos. Rowley was present in stands at Signal Iduna Park and was fortunate to see GroBkreutz score in that game, which saw the Borussians win
by a slender 1-0 margin.
The player, while talking to Bild, enthused:
"If I would ever leave Dortmund, it would be for an English team. And a club like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are an interesting option for any player."
GroBkreutz's current contract with the club is set to expire in 2014 and it is believed that Arsenal would have to pay a hefty amount in order to recruit the youngster.
He has so far appeared in 75 league games for the club, bagging 16 goals in return. The player has only made three international appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 since making his debut in 2010.
