Venditelli said that they have good relations with the club, however, they are not happy with how contractual talks are taking place.
"We have very good relations with Barcelona, but we have not yet found the solution to extend the contract. The truth is that, as time goes by, the risk of Abidal leaving Barcelona next year gets higher," agent David Venditelli told COM Radio.
In this regard, he admitted to have rejected the latest offer from Barcelona stating that it did not comply with Abidal’s wishes. He added that there was nothing in the contract that sees his client being rewarded for his attitude and efforts in recent years
for La Blaugrana.
"We want a permanent contract without variables. Not so much an economic issue, but rather a problem of recognition and confidence in Abidal,” he commented.
The agent did concede the polite manner his counterparts have behaved in their meetings. He elaborated on his stance that he wants the best for his player as it is his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, and there is nothing wrong with it.
“Although they have behaved in an exceptional way with us, we are entitled to have our ambitions and wishes for the new contract" he said.
According to Venditelli, the French international has already made "concessions" and hopes that the club is able to appreciate them and act in a similar fashion.
He pointed out two areas of the contract that have to be worked out: length of the contract, and the salary for that duration.
Venditelli also reiterated his clients desire to continue with the Catalans until the end of his career. However, he will not have any qualms about splitting from them if their wishes are heeded to.
The next meeting is scheduled for December where the future of the versatile player will be decided.
