Ferguson pens new deal
Newcastle United full-back, Shane Ferguson, has signed a five-year extension to his existing contract with the Magpies.
The 19-year-old left-back had a breakthrough season with the club and went on to make 7 league appearances. Ferguson is delighted to commit his future at the club and has thanked the fans and his teammates for their support.
Ferguson said, "I've enjoyed this season and the new contract has just been the icing on the cake. The support I've had from the fans since making my debut means a lot."
With the club’s first choice left-back, Jose Enrique, almost certain to leave St. James’s Park in the summer transfer market, Ferguson is tipped as an ideal replacement for the Spaniard.
