http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 revealed that he tried to play like Denmark’s football legend, Michael Laudrup when he was a child, and that he was every kid’s hero in the country during the 90’s.
The Danish attacking midfielder represented his country in 104 matches at the international arena from 1982 to 1998 and scored 37 goals during this period. The highlight of his international career was his performance in 1995, when he helped his country
win the Confederation Cup.
His last major tournament for Denmark was the 1998 World Cup in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858. He formally announced his retirement from
football after the game.
Furthermore, the former midfielder has also played for some of the top European clubs, which include http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, Real Madrid and Juventus during his career.
Currently, he is managing the Premier League outfit, Swansea City.
Anyhow, the Denmark skipper let out his admiration for Laudrup, terming him the best player that he had ever seen. He went on to reveal that he used to emulate his playing style when he was a child, and he was still a national celebrity.
He said in an interview, “I think most people my age growing up in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261. He played for some top clubs too so we all looked up to him.”
When asked during the interview who he thought was Liverpool’s best player in the previous season, the defender put forward the name of Martin Skrtel. He explained that the Slovakian International was by far the most consistent performer for the Reds, and
he had shown significant improvement over the last couple of years.
Skrtel was also named the club’s Player of the Season earlier in May.
Agger said: “He has been so consistent and he's improved every season. This year he has become better and better. I think in most games he was our man of the match.”
He went on to say that Skrtel’s remarkable performance came as a result of the outstanding confidence that he has developed over the years.
