Liverpool defender Daniel Agger did not miss the Reds Europa League game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Gomel-c39117 on Thursday due to an injury, the player’s agent has confirmed.
Initially, it was thought that the Danish International was absent from the Reds 1-0 win against the Belarusian side after being hampered by an injury.
However, the player’s representative, Per Steffensen moved to dispel the impression that his client’s fitness problems led to his omission from the squad, and revealed that he had confirmed his availability to the management prior to the game.
The 27-year old, who is also the skipper of the Danish national team, was one of the star performers for the Reds during the preceding term. Since his arrival at Merseyside back in 2006, the defender has made 214 appearances for Liverpool and scored 14 goals
during this period.
His absence from the team on Thursday has created a lot of stir in the media, as he was already being linked to making a switch to Manchester City or http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 this summer, in order to be a part of title winning team.
Per Steffensen told the reporters in an interview, “He is not injured in any way. Only the club and the manager can answer to why he is not in the squad.”

Nevertheless, his agent insisted that despite all the rumours doing the rounds related to his client’s future, he had not plans whatsoever of decamping from Anfield.
He also turned down the rumours that Agger has submitted a transfer request to the Reds.
“We have not heard from Liverpool with regards to a contract extension… But the reports of Agger handing in a transfer request are purely nonsense. He is very happy at Liverpool.”
