Aghowle Native to bounce back into form in the Gordon’s 8012 Olympic Stakes at Peterborough on 11th April
The Grade A1 Gordon’s 8012 Olympic Stakes are to be raced over 420 metres flat at Peterborough on Wednesday, 11th April. The prize money for the race is worth £98 and it is to be contested for by Nova Star, Aghowle Native, Glatton Fiz, Tell Me
Maggie, Monleek Bay and Mt Leinster Maid.
Leading with best credentials is Aghowle Native, Westmead Hawk’s three-year-old black son out of b***h Boin De, he transformed the first three starts of the season in a hat trick. However, his performance has not remained consistent ever since then.
He cracked into the new season on 26th January in a 420 metres race at Peterborough and got the race going for him by taking command of the final 5 ¼ lengths and timing the distance in 26.08 seconds. The runner up of the race was Gracies Magic.
The training session on 19th January at Peterborough did serve the purpose as Aghowle Native was able to bag the second outing of the season too by racing through the 420 metres track at Peterborough in 25.68 seconds on 2nd February.
Left adrift by five and a half length was Mays Ash.
He claimed the third leg of the hat trick on 17th February in a Grade A2 420 metres flat race at Peterborough by clocking the distance in 25.49 seconds. Missing the victory by just a head’s margin was the 6/4 favourite runner up of the race, Head
Iton Lyndon.
He raced across the wire after taking 25.50 seconds. Settling into the third slot behind the winner was Surrey Boy.
The race that kept forward the chance of extending the winning streak turned into a third position for Aghowle Native who took 25.87 seconds to complete the 420 metres trip in a Grade A1 420 metres flat race on 29th February at Peterborough.
The race was won by the 7/4 favourite, Confident Martin who was soon followed by Shreyas Trojan.
Aghowle Native remained winless in the next two races too and thinking better of it, the trainer, P. Ward drilled the three-year-old over 605 metres at Peterborough on 5th April.
Striking a hat trick, suffering failures and then getting trained are all the reasons that surge Aghowle Native’s chances for winning the race today.
