Agnieszka Radwanska receives acclaims from print media – Tennis News
World number two, Agnieszka Radwanska, is receiving multiple acclaims for her emphatic performance in the Wimbledon Championships at All England Lawn Tennis Club. She reached the final of the tournament and locked horns with the
American number one, Serena Williams; fought like a warrior but lost in three sets to the legendary tennis ace, who grabbed her fifth women’s Wimbledon title on Sunday. Final scores were 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 in favour of the American but the Pole left no chance that
she could grab; increasing her fan base all across the globe, especially amongst the commentators.
British newspaper, The Guardian daily, reported about the performance of the Pole number one with following words, “Radwanska's tactical nous, consistency and variety had led her to the final and she took full advantage to force
a decider. The 23-year-old... really raised her game as the match went into a deciding set. Her ability to change the pace and turn the power of the Williams game to her advantage sets her apart from most and she was proud of how she had performed.”
Radwanska proclaimed that it was her “dream” run at Olympics and she never thought that she will reach this far in the tournament having started as the third seed contestant. She received praise from the New York Times magazine
as well as they wrote, “Radwanska is lean and sinewy, and she can turn pace into angles with aplomb. She is capable of unspooling a duffel bag full of shots — slices, lobs, topspin forehands, sharp-angled backhands — at any time, and with little warning."
It was not the only glorious moment that followed her runners-up finish to the Wimbledon Championships. Polish Olympics Federation chose Radwanska to be the flag bearer for the team of Poland that will depart for the upcoming London
Olympics, contested at the same location where the superstar ended as the second best in the world. If she had won the title, she would have replaced the Russian superstar, Maria Sharapova, as the top ranked player in the world. However, there is a lot of
time left for the 22-year-old who has just got one slot to jump to lead the women tennis rankings.
