Agnieszka Radwanska vs Andrea Petkovic – Quarterfinal Preview: Rogers Cup 2011
Polish tennis-pro Agnieszka Radwanska will be meeting Andrea Petkovic from Germany in the quarterfinal of 2011 WTA Rogers Cup here at Rexall Centre, Toronto.
Radwanska has been in great form since the Women’s Tennis Association tournament has started in Toronto.  The Polish made it to the quarterfinal with a superb 6-4, 7-6 (4) victory over the number three seed Vera Zvonareva. Despite
facing a tough resistance from the Russian, she was able to come up with her A game whenever she needed to.
"Every game was so tight, you know. It's like it was deuce, advantage, deuce, advantage," Voskoboeva said. "So I just knew that I have to be focused and to continue playing... anything could happen."
Earlier in the second round, Radwanska eased past Petra Martic 6-3, 6-3. Elena Vesnina became her pray in her opening match at the competition. The Polish is yet to drop a set at the tournament and she has been timing the ball
exceptionally well.
Coming off a huge win at Carlsbad, Radwanska seems to have a special liking for the hard court surface.  Winner of 5 WTA titles Radwanska is having a very decent time on the tour this season. At the Australian Open, she made it
to the quarterfinal with a strong performance. At 2011 Roland Garros, she reached the fourth round.
Seeded 13th at the tournament, Radwanska will be hoping to maintain her current level of play to make it all the way to the final. However, she will have to be on top of her game to emerge victorious against the inform
Andrea Petkvoic.
The other contestant, Andrea Petkovic has also been in great form as she has displayed some high quality tennis throughout the tournament. The German booked her quarterfinal sport with a stunning 6-1, 6-2 effort against the newly
crowned Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova. The number eleven seed defeated Eugenie Bouchard and Great Arn in the first and second rounds respectively.
Ranked 10th in world, Petkovic has given considerable results on the tour since the year 2011 has started. Following her consistent performances, she broke into the WTA top 10 for the first time in her career. She is
known for her hard hitting and her serve is one of the best in the women’s tennis. If Petkovic can keep playing her natural game freely against Radwanska as well, she has a great chance of making it to her second semi-final of this season.
The two players have met each other three times on the tour previously with Radwanska leading the head to head score 3-0. Just a few weeks back, Radwanska overcame the German in three tight sets at 2011 Carlsbad. She will be the
clear favourite for this clash however if Petkovic can handle the pressure well enough, we may have a surprise on our hands.
