Agnieszka Radwanska’s ‘tweener’ shot in the semi-final in Miami – Tennis News
Pole tennis ace, Agnieszka Radwanska, pulled up a breathtaking return that is apparently a strongest contender for the shot of the day. It was the first game of the semi-final of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami.
Bartoli was at advantage at the serve game of her opponent. Radwanska served straight at the body of her opponent which was nicely dealt with by the French tennis icon. The return from the seventh ranked French was so powerful
that it stretched the Pole to her limits before she could just make a trivial contact to the ball that kept the ball in the play.
The lobbed return from the Pole was dealt cruelly with a forceful forehand cross-court return. It pushed the Pole to play the shot deep from the baseline at the half volley; generated very low pace on the shot and allowed the French
to attack the ball at her will. She decided to play a delicately placed drop shot that was met by the tiger-paced scamper from the Pole. Bartoli hit back a torturous lob on her return that forced Radwanska to go back facing away from the net but she came up
with an absolute thriller ‘tweener’ return. However, the French tennis ace finally managed to win the breakpoint but the tournament finalist definitely deserves a lot of praise for an enthralling show.
Later on, the French contestant hurt her knee at the end of the opening set and hopped her way in the rest of the match proceedings. She lost the match in straight sets 4-6, 2-6 and went down for the record seventh time against
the Pole. She is yet to open her account against the most improved player of this season.
Radwanska will take on the likes of the Maria Sharapova, four times Miami finalist, in her maiden showdown for the title shot. She is just 23-years-old and has already shown a lot of promise to threaten to the top ranked players
of the world. Considering her emphatic run of form in the recent past, record of 29-5 this season, the Pole has all the abilities to pull up a major upset against the Russian former world number one in the final of the tournament.
