  1. It's a useless tactic,

that's like saying God only loves Americans,

I don't understand how someone can be that self-righteous and ignorant and use God as a tool for manipulation.

I suggest some Americans get their heads out of their a*ses and realise that they are not the only nation in the world.

  2. I do not support the Iraq war (and never have, although I greatly respect the troops for doing the job they were told to do by our countries leadership regardless of if they agree or disagree) and I do not support McCain/Palin because the current republican party has lost its way and now panders to the religious reich and helps blur the line between church and state which is an abomination.

On the other hand I can't in good faith support Obama/Biden either for some of the same reasons, but more so for things that Obama has voted for like Telco immunity at the expense of our citizens rights.

I'll be doing a 3rd party write in this election unfortunately.  So far as I can tell there is no massive difference between the two parties other than who they sell you out to.  Both are for bigger government, both are for eroding our civil liberties, and both pander in various degrees to religious organizations.

If I were tied down and had to vote for only one of the two parties I'd vote for Obama, because we can't afford another 4-8 years of the religious reich and Bush-esque policies.  At least we'd get some lubrication or reach around with Obama.

  3. Okay, so seriously how is this any different than a "terrorist" from any other religion?? How can we point fingers at any other country, sect, or religion when we have politicians talking like this?

There is nothing scarier then someone trying to justify killing using God as their back-up.

    *cries*, then *fumes*..

  4. What's so scary about it is when people get the notion in their heads that they're on a "mission from God", then they are completely unable to question the validity of what they're doing. If the entire world was in the process of being destroyed...they still wouldn't stop to question whether they should be doing it or not.

Thinking that the war in Iraq is a "task that is from God" is all the proof the American people should need to see that she will be unable to view or handle this objectively.

Making decisions about something while thinking that it's a "task from God" is NOT conducive to making an *informed* decision.

  5. Although I don't agree with their stance on religion I still agree with most of their policies, more so than Obama/Biden,  so yes, I support McCain and Palin.

  6. I wasn't aware that God was involved in fighting wars, but then, I did not know that God wanted to build a natural gas pipeline either.

  7. I'm agnostic and do no support McCain/Palin. Religion needs to be kept out of politics and government.

Saying war is "God's work" is propaganda and a crock of sh**

    Great link/article by the way.

  8. The god she was refering to was Ares, the god of war.

  9. Iraq war 'a task that is from God'...she sounds just like those suicide bombers who praise Allah right before they detonate themselves.

Besides this cant be a task from God because the Bible says the Middle Eastern Conflict will never be resolved.

  10. I do not think War is Gods work.  War is the Devils work.  What wrong with these people?

    **cries for stupid people**

  11. Excuse me!

The US military sends ministers into battle with the troops.

    They are called Chaplains.

One just wrote a best selling called, "No Atheists in Foxholes."

Did you serve in the military?

    God love you!

  12. Look. No matter what atheists want to say or believe, this is a strong solid Christian nation, and Mrs. Palin is absolutely 100% on the money.

I'm just glad she has the courage to say what needs to be said. It's good to see someone, I mean SOMEONE, who actually believes in Jesus Christ and isn't wobbly kneed about it.

  13. I believe that palin and mccain's wife and obama's wife should release a L*****n s*x tape in the interests of the United States.

  14. God hates this war.

I am voting Libertarian.  My vote for President doesn't matter anyway, since I live in Ala-friggin-bama...

    EDIT:

English Girl, I agree, that was my first thought too...

  15. I entertained the idea of McCain prior to Palin, however, I won't be voting for them.  Not only am I sick of Republican politics, I'm sick of religious dogma in the political arena.

While I'm a fiscal conservative, the Republican party no longer serves in that arena.  If I have to see tax dollars being wasted, I'd rather see it done via the Democratic party, and kept here at home.  At least then I may be able to see a return on my investment.  And they don't advertise their brand of faith as a running platform.  That I respect.

Honestly, the Republican party these days is nothing more than one fueled by greed, and that preys on the faithful.  I hope one day the religious in this country can separate the two in their minds.

  16. Apparently I do.....sort of.  At least my husband is leaning towards voting repub this year and I just do what he tells me.  Yes, I'm serious about that - it's just easier.  Then I don't have to pay attention.  We are like one mind so what he thinks I think.  But with the power of two minds of course.

    Ok, nuff justification.

We're middle class and the main reason he's thinking this way is because he's sick of all the handouts to the lazy.  We live in a poor neighborhood and it is rather tiring how many benefits they get that we're too "rich" to qualify for.  I'm not talking about the free cheese either.

I hate to admit that I'm turning into a soulless republican but I think I am.  It's just that living where I do and seeing what I see, it's hard to feel sorry for these people who make no visible effort to better themselves.  DISCLAIMER:  I do not think everyone who is poor (sorry, non-pc term, so shoot me) is poor because they aren't trying.

Nor do I think they deserve their fate in life, blah blah blah.  I'm just talking about my immediate neighbors.

So bring on the thumbs down.  I deserve them.  I know this all sounded hateful.  I'm a nice person really, but I'm just sick of the low-lifes in my hood who know how to play the system - a system that is far too lenient for them.

Now as for your link - my views on this are definitely more demo than repub.  But this year the choices seem to be rock or hard place.

The good thing is that campaign promises are as empty as Speedo-wearing men's crotch areas after they remove the sock.  Very little ever changes so I figure why worry about that.  I'd rather think about my next hairdo.

ONE LAST THOUGHT:  I don't think I emphasized enough how revolting I think those two are.  It is scary that they could be in office and have some sort of power.  I just don't think they'll have as much as they think they will or that we fear they will.

I'm just glad I'm nearing menopause and things like that one issue, the one I won't name, will someday soon be a moot point for me.

And that I have no kids whose future religious life, or lack thereof, might be in jeopardy.

  17. Am I crazy, or did I just read that state troopers will be afoot and naked if the Alaskan people aren't "right with God"? JeezusF'nchrist.

Disturbed and wary, that's how I feel. That the separation of church and state is becoming a standard of the past, that's how that article makes me feel.

  18. I think this is just one more reason to vote Obama.

  19. Christians always support their arguments by invoking 'god's will'. I would be much more likely to believe that it was d**k Chaney's will.

I was a life long Republican until the Bush debacle, now I have changed my politics to a more rational direction.

  20. I very strongly believe church and state should always be kept separate

  21. I never supported them anyway, when a president or vice president makes a decision based on a belief in God, it is neither an informed decision nor is it fair to the religious minority.

Also I have no clue where these people keep coming up with the idea that America is a "Strong Christian Nation." Seriously, what law or policy makes you think that? Just because Christianity is the largest religion in the country does not mean our country follows those Christian values that people keep spouting out.

Also if God was all they needed to get someone to let them drill for oil in Alaska then why even bother asking someone? God's gonna do it for you anyway.

If killing people is God's work then let me just say that I'm glad I'm neither Christian nor Muslim.

  22. Not everybody is American.... :P

  23. I'm not American, but if i was no i wouldn't support McCain/Palin, not because of their religious beliefs though, i don't mind what they believe as long as it doesn't affect anyone else...but they really want there beliefs to affect people...

  24. I'm in shock that she named her son "Track".

And I agree with you.  Religion seperates people; it doesn't bring them together.

I mean that as a collective people.  (ie a nation)

  25. It is a campaign's use of an ideology to manipulate people who have already shown themselves to be weak minded.

  26. If God does control the world and he did create that war, why did he send a hurricane on the Republican convention?

  27. I do not live in the States, why are you Americans always so parochial? The world does not begin and end in America you know.

  28. If it wasn't for the statement "God's Will" the twin towers would still be standing and millions of people would be alive and thousands of years of war and famine would have never happened..

    chew on that

  29. She is just gving the Right wings what they want to here....BTW  I don't think I like when you are serious....no more...K
