This kind of checkmate is not by forcing the king toward the side or corner. Because there are various kind of ways to escape.

  1. Set any postion where u play with your king and leave the pc play King ,Bishop,Knight and I can beat that in less than 30 move u will be check mated

I have ChessMaster and they have Endgames training and this is a clasical endgame with a solution

this set of position is a posibility where u can see the final checkmate

position this pieces and see the final

    White

    Kh1

    Black

    Kg3,Nf3,Bg2

  2. King + Bishop + Knight can force checkmate, but it's not easy. You need to force the king into a corner square of your bishop's color. Checkmate can happen in other places, but only if your opponent blunders.

The method isn't easily described. The opposing King must be forced to the side of the board, but may move away from the edge as your pieces limit the squares it can reach.

You may never have to do this in a real game, but it's worth studying to practice maneuvering your minor pieces.

  3. Disagree. It can guarantee a checkmate. The method or technique is to force the weaker King to the corner of the board similar to the color of your Bishop to force a checkmate.

You have to accomplish the checkmate within 50 moves otherwise your opponent can claim a draw through the 50 move rule.

  4. Bishop and Knight is forcible, but you need to know how, it is very, very, complicated.

  5. It's a forced win for the side with Bishop and Knight.  I could beat anyone in the world with that setup and I'm not even a particularly good player.

Capablanca showed this over 80 years ago in the first chapter of Chess Fundamentals, but it was well known long before then.

  6. Disagree,

Knight and Bishop and King vs King is a basic checkmate only difficult if you don't know the technique of how to do it.

  7. AGREE

  8. yes, you can get a checkmate.  you should try "herding" the king with your knight and bishop into the corner with the color of the bishop.
