  1. Soccer = Football

    Aussie Rules = Football

    American Football = Football

Rugby = Football (but its stupid)

  2. you answered your own question, you said is "soccer" footy. you called it soccer,m therefore it isnt footy :D

footy is the red oval shaped ball XD

  3. Soccer, or Association Football, is the original football game so it has the naming rights!

  4. Don't know.

But soccer is only played with the feet apart grom the goalie.

I think soccer is football but if it was then i don't think that AFL should be called football.

    So it's sorta 50/50

  5. disagree.

They are the same and it's just depend on your country using the term.

  6. Disagree.

Soccer players use their feet more than any of the other football codes.   If there's one code where calling it football is stupid is gridiron.  I mean how often in a game do they kick it?

  7. It's football

  8. Agree! I hate the fact they call most sports football. In my opinion football is rugby and Aussie Rules but not soccer.

  9. Very true.  Two completely different things.

  10. Well, you do kick the ball with your foot, as opposed to football where you only kick it at certain times, the rest of the times you are throwing it, or holding it. Soccer can be football.

  11. over in another country soccer is foot ball, but in australia soccer is soccer,

  12. soccer is FOOTBALL you bloody yank!

  13. to me

    soccer         - foot ball

    Aussie rules-footy

    rugby-          - Union or league

  14. Soccer is football, you only use your hands in soccer. in rugby and AFL you use your hands as well. thats still football. so yea i think soccer is football.

  15. Soccer is the real football much as it pains me to say it.We have rugby league & union & Australian Rules.

  16. agree otherwise we wouldn't call it soccer now would we?

  17. You can score a goal with your head in soccer.

You can't handball a goal in Australian Rules.

You must score a goal with your foot.

  18. Lame question.

People call it the appropriate name for them.

  19. Soccer IS football, mainly in Europe and parts of Asia.

In Australia football is Aussie Rules

    In America football is NFL.

  20. i disagree

but it really depends on where you are in the world and who you are talking to

  21. It depends on whether you're European or American.  Different people use words differently; that's hardly startling.

  22. Disagree - soccer is actually just played with the foot and a ball so it is in fact correct to call it football.

I'm happy to share the term 'football' with AFL :P

  23. Football is played with an OVAL ball.

American football, Australian Rules Football, rugby league and rugby union are played with an OVAL ball.

Soccer is played with a ROUND ball.

One more time for all you soccer people who did not understand the above statements,

Football is played with an OVAL ball.

Soccer is played with a ROUND ball.

  24. As per first posting, it depends if your european or american, in europe they call it football, in america and australia they call it soccer.

Soccer/Football is the only game  where the ball is kicked with the foot through out the game, the only person who can handle the ball is the goalkeeper within the penalty area.

    So I disagree.
