I know you pride yourself on being the seventh largest city in the nation but that's do to lack of geographical boundaries and poor civic planning.I've returned to portland temporarily.A city much larger and more cultured than SA,yes i realize that technically its smaller but population wise and geographically the metro area is far superior to yours. Why don't you split Sa into several smaller cities so they can deal with issues on a street by street basis instead of ignoring everything south of 1604.

Ive seen pictures of J'burg South Africa,San antonio has all of its negatives and none of the positives.

  1. why dont you stay in portland and quit complaining i dont see portland seen as the cream of the crop and more people like san antonio than portland

  2. Lando,  I thought you were done with this.  Why keep bashing San Antonio, what did she ever do to you?????

Your last post that I saw you were almost NICE!!!  What happened.

We get it, you don't live here.  WE DO!!!  and WE LOVE IT!!!

I would love to meet up with you and show you MY city!  A city I love and have lived in almost all my life.

I hope you have a wonderful time in Portland.  I hear it rains a lot but is quite a nice city.

See, you can do that too.  Surely not everything about this town you hated!!!!!

  3. splitting san antonio into more, smaller cities would only create more problems.

they ignore everything south of 1604 because technically,

that's where the city limits stop.

  4. I'm glad you are able to be back in Portland and you are happy with the way your hometown is organized.

If you want to come back to Texas and run for the legislature to change the state laws regarding the method in which the cities in the state are incorporated and annexed, I recommend that you return to your home in South Austin, stay long enough to establish residency, and then run for office.

Otherwise your question has no point.  The city is, what it is.  If you want to move to San Antonio, establish residency in one of the areas you feel needs improvement, and run for city council to make those changes, then do that.

As it currently stands, the San Antonio metro area is one of the fastest growing major cities in the US.  The cities outside the city are growing and the metropolitan area will eventually grow just as rapidly.  When you consider that the area has grown from less than 700,000 in 1968 to 2 million people 40 years later it is understandable that there are issues which do not affect multiple cities which have grown together over the years, like the Portland area.

I would recommend that you decide where you want to live, and work towards making a positive statement about an area, rather than focusing on one bad week you had in your life.

Get over it.  With approximately 25 million people visiting San Antonio per year, it really won't affect the city if you don't want to come back.

I do hope you have a nice life, and enjoy wherever you choose to live.

  5. Still hiding all your answers, I see. Go ahead and mark this one thumbs down, cause you know anyone that disagrees with you is wrong, just wrong!   I am so happy you are back to the land of over priced housing, state income tax, weird people, bad weather and coffee places.

    Enjoy!

  6. A major flaw with your plan, IT MAKES SENSE! so there fore it cannot be done. Anything that makes sense in normal everyday life is not allowed to be done by the gov't of any city, county, state, or capital hill.

If it's screwy and doesn't make sense, then by all means, the gov'ts will be happy to accommodate your requests.
