Compare the history of India's agriculture now and then. Look at SEZ's and how these special economic zones affect the farmers, and look at the British colonization period and compare them (they learned quick that they didn't want the product, they wanted the money and nothing else). Look to other area's like the Ancient Roman empire and the lands that produced for them under them and look at the plight of the farmer in the US at the beginning of the 1900's to the 1940's; the share croppers and the big farming companies, and the "dust bowl that resulted from injured land in a changing environment; don't forget to include all the hunger and suffering and the tiny bandage the governments used on the festering wounds the farmer endured then and now. All  are very similar to what happened earlier in India's history and then again later. It is said that history repeats itself, but I guess I would have to say it is more like people just can't learn a lesson even when they are beaten with it till bloody every single day. The farmer who feeds the world is often the b*****d son; a Cinderella story over and over.
